Samajwadi Youth Brigade protests severe waterlogging crisis in Bahraich town

Members of the Samajwadi Party Youth Brigade staged a strong protest at the Bahraich collectorate against severe waterlogging plaguing the town, submitting a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and warning of intensified agitation if authorities fail to act.

A large contingent of Mulayam Youth Brigade workers reached the collectorate and held a spirited demonstration under the leadership of district president Mayank Mishra. The protesters highlighted the mounting distress of residents in various localities of the town caused by stagnant rainwater.

Waterlogging has crippled neighbourhoods including Nauwagarhi, Ghassiyaripura, Dhappalipurwa, Bakshipura and several other mohallas across the town. Heavy rainwater has accumulated not only in narrow lanes but also on main roads, severely disrupting normal life.

The situation has worsened to the extent that filthy drain water mixed with rainwater has entered homes and shops, creating extremely unhygienic conditions. The stagnant water has raised the spectre of disease outbreaks, adding to the worries of the affected population.

In the memorandum submitted at the Bahraich collectorate, the Youth Brigade demanded immediate cleaning of drains and comprehensive improvement of the drainage system. The protesters made it clear that if the administration does not take prompt remedial action, they will launch a more aggressive agitation in the coming days. The demonstration reflected growing public anger over the civic body's failure to address the chronic waterlogging problem that recurs with every spell of rain.
