Teen dies under suspicious circumstances in UP village, police launch probe

A 16-year-old boy died under suspicious circumstances in Shravasti district, triggering a police investigation and forensic examination at the scene.

The incident took place in Patna Khargaura village under Bhinga Kotwali police station jurisdiction. The deceased was identified as Ajay Kumar, whose age was reported as approximately 17 years by authorities.

According to Circle Officer Bharat Paswan, information was received on 05.09.2026 from the village about Ajay Kumar's death in suspicious circumstances. Upon receiving the alert, the CO and Bhinga police immediately rushed to the spot along with a forensic team.

The police force and forensic experts conducted a thorough inspection of the scene. The forensic team collected necessary evidence from the location for further investigation.

In preliminary questioning with family members, police learned that Ajay Kumar's health had deteriorated during the night. He had gone to sleep after having dinner. When family members checked on him in the morning, they found that he had already died.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination after completing the panchnama to determine the actual cause of death. Further legal proceedings in the case are underway.
