Squadron Leader Prashant Singh Laid to Rest in Dehradun After AN-32

Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, a resident of Dehradun, was laid to rest following his tragic death in the AN-32 aircraft crash at Jorhat Airbase. The final journey began with his mortal remains being transported in a military vehicle to the cremation ground on Kishan Bahadur Thapa Marg. His mother fainted upon seeing his body wrapped in the national flag. Prashant Singh, aged 32, had been married for just over a year, since November 23, 2024.

The AN-32 crash occurred on Saturday morning during a routine flight. The aircraft, carrying six personnel, skidded on the runway during landing at Jorhat Airbase around 10 a.m. It veered toward the taxiway, broke into two parts, and caught fire. While the co-pilot was rescued and is undergoing treatment at a military hospital in Jorhat, five personnel, including Prashant Singh, lost their lives.

The deceased include Squadron Leader Prashant Singh (Dehradun), Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar (Bihar), Sergeant Jitendra Sharma (Aligarh), Agniveer Vayu Khemaram Kumawat (Rajasthan), and Agniveer Vayu Danish Alam (Bihar). The Air Force continues to provide support to the families of the deceased.
