SP legislators protest outside DISHA meeting in Raibareli, question governance

Samajwadi Party legislators staged a protest demonstration outside the venue of a DISHA meeting in Raibareli, raising sharp questions about the effectiveness of governance and administration in the district.

SP MLAs Rahul Lodhi and Shyam Sundar Bharti unfurled their protest just before the DISHA meeting was scheduled to begin. The two legislators held placards and demonstrated outside the meeting hall, targeting the government and administration with serious questions about their performance.

The protesting MLAs questioned the very rationale of holding the DISHA meeting when, according to them, the problems faced by common people in the district remain exactly as they were. Holding placards, both legislators were seen registering their protest outside the meeting venue.

The DISHA meeting is to be chaired by Raibareli MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. The meeting is meant to review the implementation of central government schemes and development works in the district.

The Samajwadi Party has been continuously targeting the government over the issue of closed schools in Raibareli. The question now is whether the issues raised by the SP legislators will be discussed in the DISHA meeting and what response the administration will offer to these allegations.
