Social worker Sonia Saini has demanded an impartial inquiry by the District Magistrate into allegations that liquor is being sold in Muzaffarnagar district after the prescribed sale time by keeping shop shutters closed and continuing sales from inside.
A memorandum was submitted today to the District Magistrate by social worker Sonia Saini regarding complaints that some liquor shops allegedly sell liquor even after the fixed time for sales has ended. The complaint states that after the scheduled time is over, the shutters of some liquor shops are closed, but liquor is allegedly made available from inside.
According to the complainants, complaints on this issue have earlier also been given to officials of the Excise Department. They have claimed that they possess evidence related to the matter, which can be presented during the inquiry.
The memorandum said that the availability of liquor after the prescribed time can create problems linked to law and order, road safety and the safety of ordinary citizens. The complaint relates to Muzaffarnagar district and has been reported by Anmol Kumar, Muzaffarnagar. Contact number: 7078215007.
