Seychelles First Lady meets Space Mom at all-girls lunar mission in India

Seychelles' First Lady, Her Excellency Madame Veronique Herminie, visited Mission ShaktiSat in Greater Noida on Friday, marking a significant moment in women's leadership, global diplomacy, and space science. Affectionately known as the "Mother of Seychelles" in her home country, Madame Herminie met with the driving force behind Mission ShaktiSat, lovingly called "Space Mom," and addressed young girl scientists gathered from around the world.

During the special event, Madame Herminie spoke to young female scientists and participants from across the globe, emphasizing the need to advance women and girls in science and technology and inspire them to dream big. Her address clearly reflected a commitment to women's leadership and creating new opportunities for girls on a global scale. According to organizers, Mission ShaktiSat is one of the world's largest all-girls lunar missions, bringing together girl scientists from 108 countries on a shared platform. Led by Dr. Srimathy Kesan, Mission ShaktiSat is a global initiative designed to empower girls and women worldwide by offering education, mentorship, and opportunities in space technology.

The mission is linked to Space Kidz India, an organization focused on creating opportunities for youth in space science and technology. According to organizers, Space Kidz India has experience in building and launching 27 satellite missions and has established its reputation in student-led space science. Mission ShaktiSat is described as one of the organization's most comprehensive global initiatives, expanding its reach from national to international scale. Madame Herminie's visit has provided significant support to this global effort, adding an influential voice to the mission's growing group of patrons and dignitaries.
