Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida has started an advanced MRI facility with the launch of the Philips, Netherlands, Ultra-Fast Wide-Bore MRI machine Ambition X. The hospital said the helium-free MRI system is designed to make scans more comfortable for patients while providing doctors with better diagnostic support.
The facility is part of an initiative by Kailash Hospital to modernise healthcare services in Greater Noida. The hospital said the new system combines faster scanning, high-definition imaging and a Wide-Bore design developed with patient comfort in mind.
The more open scanning design may help patients who feel anxious or uncomfortable while undergoing an examination in a conventional MRI machine. The Wide-Bore structure provides relatively more open space inside the scanner, which can make the scanning experience easier for some patients.
The new MRI facility will support several specialised examinations. These include cardiac MRI, breast dynamic contrast MRI, fetal MRI, brain perfusion, brain angiography, stroke evaluation, aneurysm investigations and tractography.
The technology may also assist in neurological and oncological assessments, including the evaluation of cancer and tumours, breast-related diseases and problems involving the heart muscles. The hospital clarified that the decision on which examination is necessary for a patient will be taken on the basis of the patient’s medical condition.
The facility is expected to provide diagnostic support to doctors from several departments at Kailash Hospital. These include neurology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, oncology, general medicine, gynaecology, ENT, cardiology, and emergency and trauma care.
According to the hospital, the aim of making advanced imaging facilities available closer to patients is to support timely and comprehensive examination of diseases. This will help doctors take treatment-related decisions on the basis of better information, the hospital said.
The hospital has also highlighted patient convenience and safety during MRI examinations. Faster scanning technology may help reduce the time a patient spends inside the scanner, depending on the type of scan and the medical requirement.
The hospital said that necessary screening before an MRI examination, safety procedures and protocols related to patient monitoring are followed. Relevant staff members are also given regular training in accordance with MRI safety standards.
Kanchan Verma, Group Director-Radiology, Kailash Healthcare, said the purpose of starting the advanced Wide-Bore MRI facility was to make modern diagnostic services available to people in the surrounding areas.
According to Dr Kanchan Verma, the combination of faster scanning, advanced imaging technology and a design focused on patient comfort will strengthen the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities. It will also help provide patients with a more comfortable experience during examinations, she said.
The Philips Ambition X system has been described by the hospital as an Ultra-Fast Wide-Bore MRI machine equipped with helium-free technology. Its imaging and scanning features are intended to support a range of examinations linked to the brain, heart, breast, pregnancy-related imaging, stroke, aneurysm, cancer and other medical conditions.
Kailash Hospital Greater Noida is part of Kailash Healthcare and provides services linked to different medical specialities. With the launch of the Ambition X MRI facility, the hospital said it has taken another step towards expanding modern diagnostic technology and patient-centred healthcare services.
The hospital’s new MRI capability will bring together advanced imaging, faster scanning and a wider scanning design in one facility. The decision to use the available examinations, however, will remain dependent on the clinical condition of each patient and the advice of the treating doctors.
