Sambhal gears up for Ganesh Chauth Fair Chandausi 2026 in September

A comprehensive preparatory meeting for the renowned Ganesh Chaturthi Fair was held in Sambhal, with District Magistrate Ankit Khandelwal and Superintendent of Police Vikas Chandra Tripathi chairing a joint annual session with the fair committee to finalise arrangements for the Ganesh Chauth Fair Chandausi-2026, scheduled to run from 12 September to 2 October.

The meeting took place in the Sambhal Collectorate auditorium, where the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chandausi briefed the District Magistrate on various aspects related to the fair's organisation.

Extensive discussions were held regarding the fair tendering process and electrical connection arrangements. The Electricity Department and Telephone Department were instructed to ensure proper arrangements for electricity and telephone poles and wires, so that power and telephone services remain unaffected and wires are kept organised and safe.

Jal Nigam (Urban) was directed to carry out repairs of hand pumps at the fair site and install additional hand pumps as needed. The Roadways Department received instructions to prepare a temporary bus stop in Chandausi during the fair period and ensure sufficient arrangements of roadways buses for the convenience of passengers.

The Additional District Magistrate issued directions to create awareness among people regarding Ganesh idol immersion, emphasising that only idols made from clay or cow dung should be immersed.

The Fire Services Department was instructed to keep small fire-fighting vehicles stationed near the fair site. The Superintendent of Police stated that fire-fighting vehicles should be deployed point-by-point and their movement should also be monitored.

Essential guidelines were issued concerning police and traffic management during the meeting. Instructions were given to ensure proper parking arrangements during the chariot procession scheduled for 14 September, so that traffic flow remains smooth.

The Additional District Magistrate directed that the fair site be kept plastic-free and adequate arrangements for free drinking water be ensured for devotees.

The District Magistrate said that it should be ensured that shopkeepers do not extend their shops beyond the designated spaces allocated for shops at the fair site. Dustbins should be placed near shops and proper cleanliness arrangements should be maintained at the fair site.

Addressing concerned officials, the District Magistrate emphasised that electrical arrangements should function smoothly without any disruption.

The District Magistrate instructed that a health department camp be set up at the fair site during the fair. He said that sufficient quantities of medicines should be available at the camp.

Necessary guidelines were also issued regarding CCTV camera arrangements at the fair site.

He directed concerned officials to install signage related to the fair site at the railway station and bus stand, ensuring that devotees and visitors coming from outside face no difficulty in reaching the fair site.

The District Magistrate instructed the City Magistrate and concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate to conduct a detailed inspection of the chariot procession route and fair site today itself. Along with this, a thorough examination of the allotment process for shops that have been allocated should also be carried out.

The Superintendent of Police directed the fair committee to provide the layout of shops and the fair site. He said that no shops of any kind should be allowed outside the fair site and it should be ensured that traffic arrangements are not disrupted under any circumstances.
