Chandausi Ganesh Fair draws massive crowds on Ganesh Chaturthi evening

A massive crowd of devotees and visitors thronged the Chandausi Ganesh Fair on Wednesday night during Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Thousands of people arrived with their families to visit the fair from the city as well as from Sambhal and several nearby districts and far-flung rural areas. The fair premises were packed to capacity by the evening, and the bustling atmosphere continued late into the night.

Visitors showed considerable enthusiasm for shopping, entertainment and cultural programs on Wednesday. Modern rides remained the center of attraction among children and young people. Long queues of spectators formed outside the maut ka kuan, the well of death stunt show. Shops selling toys, household goods, cosmetics and food items witnessed a steady stream of shoppers throughout the day.

The magnificent tableau of Mansarovar prepared in the Gajanan premises remained among the main attractions of the fair. Devotees began arriving for darshan of the tableau from around five o'clock in the evening. Queues of people continued to form until night. Devotees stood in line to view the tableau display.

A series of colorful performances continued on the fair's cultural stage until late evening. Artists entertained the audience with their presentations. The audience encouraged the performers by applauding their acts. The entire fair premises remained lively with lights, music and the buzz of people late into the night.
