Samajwadi Party protests closure of 26,000 primary schools in Uttar Pradesh

Samajwadi Party leaders and workers staged a protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh over the state's education system in Sambhal on Saturday, the occasion of Teachers' Day. SP leaders alleged that a large number of primary schools in the state have been shut down and locked, which is affecting the education system for children in rural areas.

The Samajwadi Party claims that around 26,000 primary schools have been closed in Uttar Pradesh during the BJP government's tenure. Taking up this issue, SP workers made the closed schools the center of protest on Teachers' Day and organized programs there to raise their voice against the government.

In Sambhal district, SP leaders and workers reached the closed schools in Gram Panchayat Aata and Khajra Khakam village and expressed their protest. The workers said that Teachers' Day will be truly honored only when better and accessible education is provided to all children in the state and the closed schools are reopened.

During the program, several confrontations were witnessed between the police administration and SP leaders and workers. The police reached the spot and tried to control the situation, while SP workers remained adamant on continuing their protest outside the schools. The atmosphere appeared tense for some time during this period.

SP leaders accused the BJP government of weakening the education system and said that primary schools in rural areas are the main foundation for children's education. In such a situation, the closure of schools causes the most difficulty for children from poor and rural families.

SP leaders demanded from the government to reopen the closed schools, appoint adequate number of teachers and improve the quality of education in government schools. They said that the Samajwadi Party will continue to corner the government on the issue of education.

Meanwhile, the protest held outside the closed schools on the occasion of Teachers' Day and the confrontation with the police remained a topic of discussion in the area.
