SP MLA alleges state closed 25,000 schools, prioritised liquor shops instead

Samajwadi Party MLA Dr. RK Verma launched a sharp attack on the state government over the education system at a PDA Pathshala event organised in Madhavganj Mahuli, Sadar development block, on the occasion of Teachers' Day.

Dr. RK Verma, the legislator from Raniganj, alleged that during the SP government's tenure, the state had around 1.61 lakh schools, but their number has now fallen to approximately 1.36 lakh. He said the government should focus on strengthening the education system and providing better education to children.

The legislator accused the state of opening liquor shops instead of ensuring good educational facilities. He said education is the foundation of any society's development and the government should work towards improving the condition of schools, ensuring the availability of teachers, and providing a better educational environment for children.

During the programme, discussions were also held on the ideology of PDA and the policies of the Samajwadi Party. The event, organised by the Samajwadi Party on Teachers' Day in Pratapgarh, was attended by party workers and local residents.
