Samajwadi Party protests power cuts and inflation under BJP rule in Uttar Pradesh

Samajwadi Party leader Jaysingh Pratap Yadav led a forceful protest at the Amethi tehsil premises, raising his voice against power cuts and rising inflation that he said are crippling ordinary citizens under the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh.

Jaysingh Pratap Yadav said unannounced power cuts have plunged rural areas into darkness and are causing immense hardship to people. He demanded an immediate end to electricity cuts and relief for the public. "BJP rule has left power supplies dead and people in distress," he said, adding that escalating prices have broken the back of the common man.

The Samajwadi Party workers staged a strong demonstration at the tehsil complex, raising loud slogans against what they called the anti-people policies of the government. Through the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Amethi, the protesters submitted a five-point memorandum addressed to the Governor of Uttar Pradesh.

Jaysingh also targeted the government over soaring prices of diesel, petrol, cooking gas, sugar and food items, demanding that inflation be reined in. He accused the administration of harassing Samajwadi Party leaders and workers through false cases. He also took aim at the government over the menace of stray cattle, alleging that stray animals roaming the streets are claiming lives while the government remains indifferent.

The protest also highlighted the problem of waterlogging in Amethi Nagar Panchayat. Jaysingh claimed that the entire town, including government residences, gets submerged whenever it rains, and demanded a permanent solution to the waterlogging crisis.

Jaysingh Pratap Yadav declared that the fight on people's issues will continue from the streets to the assembly. A large number of Samajwadi Party workers and local residents were present at the demonstration.
