Samajwadi Party leader visits Ikona after bulldozer demolition on pond land

A political storm has erupted in Ikona, Shravasti, after district authorities carried out a bulldozer demolition drive against illegal constructions built on pond land, with Samajwadi Party leader Masood Alam arriving at the site to meet affected families and launching a sharp attack on the state government.

Masood Alam visited the victims in Ikona and distributed relief material among them, strongly condemning the bulldozer action by the district administration and the Bharatiya Janata Party government. The SP leader leveled serious allegations, saying the BJP government is working to benefit illegal plotting businessmen who are watching like vultures with their eyes fixed on the land.

Taking a direct aim at the government, Masood Alam alleged that poor people's homes are being demolished in the front so that illegal colonies can be carved out in the back to benefit land mafias. He accused the administration of serving the interests of those involved in unlawful real estate dealings.

The families who lost their homes in the demolition drive in Ikona are now on the back foot following the administration's action. The matter has intensified further with the intervention of political parties in the issue, turning it into a heated political controversy in the district.
