Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti seeks railway upgrades for Hamirpur stations in Uttar Pradesh

Union Minister with Cabinet rank and Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to press for urgent infrastructure upgrades at railway stations in her constituency. The meeting focused on improving basic amenities at two key stations in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, including one near her ancestral village.

During the discussion, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti submitted a formal letter outlining several demands for Yamuna South Bank Railway Station. She requested platform elevation work, construction of a foot overbridge, and provision of essential basic facilities to improve passenger convenience and safety. The minister emphasized that these improvements are crucial for the thousands of commuters who use the station daily.

The Union Minister also raised the issue of Hamirpur Road Railway Station, specifically requesting a stoppage for the Subedarganj-Lokmanya Tilak Terminal Express. This train halt would significantly benefit local residents by providing better connectivity to Mumbai and other major cities along the route. The demand reflects growing passenger requirements in the region.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw heard the concerns raised by Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, who stressed that both railway stations require immediate attention to meet public needs. The letter handed over during the meeting detailed all infrastructure requirements and their importance for public welfare. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti's Private Secretary, Rajendra Nishad, was also present during the meeting held at the Railway Ministry.

The minister's initiative underscores the government's focus on improving rail infrastructure at smaller stations across the country. Upgrades to these facilities are expected to enhance passenger experience and boost local connectivity in Hamirpur district.
