Waterlogging cuts off Hamirpur village from markets ahead of Raksha Bandhan

Severe waterlogging on the main road of Majra in Hamirpur has brought traffic to a complete standstill, disrupting connectivity between Jagannpur Majra and key market areas of Shivani and Kurara just ahead of Raksha Bandhan. The festive season has turned challenging for villagers who are unable to reach nearby markets to purchase essential items for the upcoming celebrations.

Women from the area are facing significant difficulties in buying rakhis, sweets, and other necessary goods for the festival. The waterlogged stretch has made it extremely risky to venture out, leaving residents stranded at a time when preparations for Raksha Bandhan are at their peak. The disruption has sparked growing frustration among the local population, who fear that their festival celebrations will be dampened if the situation persists.

Residents of Jagannpur Majra, located in the Kurara development block under Shivani area, have highlighted the hazardous conditions created by the stagnant water on the road. Many villagers reported that commuting through the waterlogged route has become dangerous, making it nearly impossible to access basic services and markets.

Local residents have urgently appealed to the district administration to ensure immediate drainage of the accumulated water and restore normal traffic movement on the road. They have emphasized that swift action is critical, as any further delay in clearing the waterlog could severely impact their Raksha Bandhan festivities and dampen the spirit of the occasion.
