Police arrest three men, recover stolen motorcycle from Mangarh temple stand

Kunda police have arrested three suspects and recovered a stolen Hero Honda Splendor Plus motorcycle that was taken from the Mangarh Mandir stand. The accused, all residents of the Maheshganj area, were apprehended as part of an ongoing drive against crime and criminal activities being conducted under the direction of Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar.

The three men arrested have been identified as Vivek Yadav, Sanjay Yadav and Vikas Yadav. They have been booked under case crime number 339/2026, sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police recovered the stolen Hero Honda Splendor Plus bike from their possession during the operation.

According to police, on 09 September 2026, Shiv Prasad Patel, a resident of village Laru, had lodged a written complaint at Kunda police station. In his complaint, Patel stated that he had parked his motorcycle at the Mangarh Mandir stand on 08 September. After completing his darshan at the temple, when he returned to collect his vehicle, the bike was found missing from the spot.

Based on the complaint filed by Shiv Prasad Patel, Kunda police had registered a case under section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation. The successful arrest and recovery came as a result of the police's sustained efforts in tracking down offenders involved in theft cases in the area.
