After Weeks of Uncertainty, NEET Aspirants Gear Up for Retest

Ranchi/Dhanbad: Thousands of NEET (UG) aspirants across Jharkhand are preparing for a crucial retest scheduled for Sunday, balancing intensive revision with lingering anxiety and fatigue after weeks of uncertainty.

Many students, who had briefly paused their studies following the original examination, are now working to regain focus and confidence. Mental health experts and coaching institutes have urged candidates to prioritise calmness over last-minute cramming. Siddharth Sinha, a counsellor at RINPAS, highlighted that prolonged uncertainty can lead to anxiety, sleep disturbances, and burnout. He recommended maintaining regular routines, getting adequate rest, and setting realistic revision goals.

Pankaj Singh, a director of a coaching institute, advised students to focus on NCERT-based revision, handwritten notes, and mock-test analysis. He cautioned that panic often impacts performance more than gaps in preparation. NEET aspirant Shambhavi Suhana described the experience as emotionally draining, saying, “Getting back into the routine after a short break was exhausting, but now I am focusing only on revision and staying positive.”

Meanwhile, district administrations have intensified efforts to ensure the retest is conducted smoothly and without malpractice. In Ranchi, the examination will take place at 21 centres, with magistrates and police personnel deployed at all venues.
