Protests erupted in Shravasti today as members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) demonstrated against police action on students protesting irregularities in Jharkhand's JPSC and JSSC examinations. The students had been raising concerns over alleged paper leaks and lack of transparency in the recruitment exams. The ABVP activists condemned the use of force, including lathi charge and water cannons, against the protesters and demanded immediate action from the Jharkhand government.

ABVP state committee member Prajwal Mishra criticized the police crackdown, calling it "highly condemnable." He stated that students were peacefully protesting for fair investigations into exam irregularities and strict action against those responsible. Despite this, the use of force against them, including during a recent assembly gherao in Ranchi, reflected insensitivity towards democratic rights, Mishra added.

District coordinator Sudhanshu Pandey asserted that the voices of students cannot be silenced through lathi charges, water cannons, or arrests. He urged the Jharkhand government to conduct an impartial inquiry into the incidents of police action and hold the responsible officials accountable.

Department coordinator Virat Shukla demanded a high-level investigation into the alleged irregularities and paper leaks in the JPSC and JSSC exams. He also called for the cancellation of the compromised exams and their reorganization in a transparent manner, along with strict punishment for those involved.

ABVP district organization minister Dilip emphasized the need for systemic reforms in the examination process to ensure fairness and prevent future disruptions. He assured that the ABVP would continue to fight for the rights of students and a transparent examination system through democratic means.

The protest saw participation from several ABVP members, including Ashutosh Mishra, Manas Kasodhan, Uttam Tiwari, Shivam, Mahipal Paswan, Faheem, Aman, and Rishabh. The organization reiterated its commitment to standing by students and ensuring their demands are met.
