Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker share miscarriage story before welcoming son Rocky

Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker have shared the heartbreaking story of a miscarriage they experienced early in their relationship. The couple revealed the loss in Barker's upcoming documentary, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, which premiered in New York on Saturday, June 13. According to Entertainment Weekly, the couple got pregnant six months after they started dating in 2021.

The pregnancy was bittersweet, as they learned they were expecting a baby girl, whom they had planned to name Tulip. However, tragedy struck during their three-month appointment, where they were informed that their baby no longer had a heartbeat. Reflecting on the loss, Kardashian Barker said in the documentary, "When we lost the baby, we were devastated. We cried for days."

Despite the pain, the couple's journey eventually led to joy. They now share their son, Rocky, whom they welcomed after a long and challenging fertility journey. Kardashian Barker also has three children—Mason, 16, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 11—from her previous relationship with Scott Disick. Meanwhile, Barker is father to Landon, 22, and Alabama, 20, from his marriage to Shanna Moakler, and stepfather to Atiana De La Hoya, 27.

The couple has been open about their struggles with IVF. In May 2024, Kardashian Barker discussed her fertility challenges on Instagram, revealing that she underwent five failed IVF cycles and three retrievals before deciding to stop after a year. She shared how her faith helped her through the difficult period, writing, "I believed in God's plan for my life... Lots of prayers for whatever was meant to be for us."

To her surprise, Kardashian Barker became pregnant with Rocky naturally, a year after stopping IVF treatments. She described the pregnancy as a "blessing" that occurred on Valentine's Day. On a season four episode of her heartfelt family's reality show, she explained how the pregnancy came as a shock after she and Barker decided to take a break from fertility treatments. "We stopped doing IVF probably two months before our wedding... We were not trying whatsoever. I wasn't even checking my ovulation anymore. We decided to put it in God's hands," she said.

Reflecting on Rocky's arrival, Kardashian Barker expressed gratitude, calling it "a miracle" to be able to have a baby with the love of her life.
