Jailed murder accused Yash Solanki's illegal weapons video sparks police probe in Bulandshahr

A video of a murder accused flaunting illegal weapons has gone viral on social media, triggering panic in the police department in Bulandshahr district. The accused, Yash Solanki, is currently lodged in jail but the video shows him posing with a 315 bore illegal pistol, live cartridges and ammunition while mouthing threatening dialogues.

Yash Solanki is accused of murdering Anuj Chaudhary, a resident of Chaman Vihar in Khurja town, on 22 April 2025. He allegedly carried out the killing along with seven accomplices and has been sent to jail in connection with the case. The victim Anuj Chaudhary was posted in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

The viral video was posted on social media by Arun, the brother of the accused. Arun has demanded strict action against the accused from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and sought security for his family. The victim's family is living in fear after the video surfaced.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter given its serious nature. Circle Officer of Khurja, Shobhit Kumar, said that accused Yash Solanki is currently lodged in the district jail. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the video going viral on social media is old. However, a thorough investigation is being conducted into the entire matter and the video. Legal action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge during the investigation.
