The administration has begun demolition action against illegal colonies in Hathras, with action taken against three colonies developed in violation of rules and prescribed standards within the regulated area.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Raj Bahadur Singh said that action would be taken against colonies developed contrary to the prescribed standards. He also said that notices had been issued to other colonies and that further action would soon be taken against colonies that do not comply with the standards.

According to the administration, demolition action was carried out against three colonies as part of the ongoing drive. SDM Raj Bahadur Singh said action against illegally developed colonies would continue. He added that the colonies that have been served notices would face action according to the rules.

The first of the three colonies is named Maa Sharde. Its operator has been identified as Rakesh Parashar. The second colony is Ganga Rainbow, which has been reported to be associated with Ramniwas. The third colony is located in the Garhi Tamanna area on Lahra Road and was developed by Rohit Kumar.

The administration took action against illegal construction in all three colonies. The action covers colonies being developed in the regulated area without following the required rules and standards.

The SDM said colonies developed contrary to the standards often do not have adequate arrangements for roads, drainage and other essential public facilities. As a result, people who purchase plots there may face difficulties in the future.

He also said that such colonies raise questions about the arrangements of the administration and the municipality. The lack of required facilities can create problems for people who invest in plots in these colonies.

The administration has appealed to people to check the legality of a colony before buying a plot there. Buyers have been advised to verify whether the colony has been approved by the concerned department and whether the necessary facilities have been provided.

The administration said that investing money in colonies developed without following the prescribed standards could lead to legal and other problems in the future. People have therefore been asked to check the approval status and the available facilities before making a purchase.

SDM Raj Bahadur Singh made it clear that action against illegal colonies would continue. He said notices had already been issued to other colonies and that action in those cases would be taken according to the rules.
