Hamirpur Man Dies As Kutcha House Collapses Amid Heavy Rain
A roughly 65-year-old man died in Hamirpur after a two-storey kutcha house collapsed amid continuous heavy rain, officials said.
The incident took place in Sikrodi village under the Kurara police station area. According to the information available, the kutcha house came down because of the ongoing heavy rain. Ram Prakash, the elderly man who died, was sleeping inside the house when it collapsed and he got trapped under the debris.
SDM and CO reached the spot after the collapse. With the help of police, they pulled out the elderly man who was buried under the debris. He was then taken to Kurara CHC, where doctors declared him dead.
Ram Prakash was alone in the house at the time of the accident. His wife had gone to her maternal home.
SDM Sadar Abhishek Kumar also said that compensation would be given by the administration after the post-mortem process. The heavy downpour has become a major problem for kutcha houses in the area.
