Hamirpur Lok Adalat aims to resolve 18 case types without court proceedings

A national public court was organized in Hamirpur district under the supervision of the District Legal Services Authority, marking the third Lok Adalat of the year 2026.

The Lok Adalat will dispose of 18 different types of cases, including family matters, matrimonial disputes, motor accident claims, electricity and water bill disputes, cheque bounce cases, and matters that have not yet been filed in court.

The decision of the Lok Adalat is final and no appeal can be made in any court against a case settled in the Lok Adalat. The Lok Adalat helps parties save money, labor, time and resources. Cases can be settled in the Lok Adalat without engaging an advocate.

The previous Lok Adalat had disposed of 16,188 cases, and an amount of 4 crore 42 lakh 33 thousand 321 rupees was deposited as settlement money.

The Lok Adalat was organized in the conference hall of the district court. The forum provides a platform for speedy resolution of disputes through mutual consent and compromise, offering an alternative to prolonged litigation in regular courts.
