Grandson arrested for allegedly murdering grandfather with spade in Raibareli

A grandson has been arrested in Raibareli for allegedly murdering his grandfather by attacking him with a spade while he slept, police said. The incident has sent shockwaves through the area.

The killing took place in Pure Bhawani Rampur Gahir Khet under Ghurwara police station limits in Raibareli. The victim has been identified as Parameswar Yadav, a resident of the village. His grandson Sarvan Yadav has been accused of the murder.

According to information provided, Parameswar was sleeping on the veranda outside his house during the night when the incident occurred. Sarvan Yadav allegedly attacked him with a spade. The attack was carried out while the elderly man was sleeping at night.

Hearing the screams, family members rushed to the spot and found Parameswar in a blood-soaked condition. Neighbours also gathered after hearing the commotion. The injured man was immediately admitted to a hospital for treatment. He was taken to AIIMS Raibareli, where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.

Police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The accused, Sarvan Yadav, has been arrested by police. Authorities are interrogating him to determine the reasons behind the incident.
