Former MLC Ajit Singh's 22nd death anniversary marked with week-long service campaign

A week-long service campaign commemorating the 22nd death anniversary of former MLC Ajit Singh concluded with a grand ceremony at Arora Resort in Kabba Kheda, Unnao. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of state government ministers, public representatives, social workers, and a large number of people who paid floral tributes to the late leader's portrait.

Speakers at the function remembered Ajit Singh as a people's leader who was always at the forefront of helping the needy sections of society, recalling his deep social concerns and commitment to public welfare.

The concluding ceremony of the service week featured multiple programmes focused on assisting the underprivileged and social service initiatives. Scholarships were awarded to meritorious students of class five, high school, and intermediate. A blood donation camp saw enthusiastic participation from several hundred donors who contributed blood for those in need. Retired teachers and former soldiers were felicitated in recognition of their contributions to society. Members of the Brahmin community were also honoured during the event.

Poor women received assistance materials as part of the relief efforts. Tricycles were distributed to differently-abled persons to facilitate their mobility, while hearing aids were provided to people with impaired hearing. A medical camp was organized where health check-ups were conducted and medical consultations were offered to attendees.

Former MP from Jaunpur Dhananjay Singh, minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, and former state president Bhupendra Chaudhary were among the prominent public representatives who attended and paid their respects. MLAs Brajesh Rawat, Shrikant Katiyar, Anil Singh, Ashutosh Shukla, Gauriganj MLA Rakesh Singh, and Mohanlalganj MLA Ambarish Rawat were present along with a large gathering who remembered Ajit Singh.

Speakers noted that Ajit Singh lived among common people during his political life, understood their problems, and remained ever ready to help the needy. For him, politics was not merely a means to attain positions but a medium for public service. His affection for the poor and the deprived gave him a distinct identity among ordinary citizens.

The speakers emphasized that programmes organized during the service week in his memory, including blood donation, scholarships, health check-ups, and assistance to the needy, represent efforts to carry forward his spirit of service. Present at the event were Ajit Singh's father, former MLC Babu Ranjit Singh, his wife and district panchayat president Shakun Singh, son and BJP leader Shashank Shekhar Singh, Anuj Singh Mani, Anubhav Singh, Ahana Singh, Arika Singh, and Shivay Singh, along with a large number of people.
