Food safety raids target sweet shops in Amethi's Jagdishpur town

The enforcement drive was led by SDM Musafirkhana Nitesh Kumar and Food Inspector S.K. Chauhan in the presence of the station in-charge. The team visited several sweet shops across Jagdishpur town and collected samples from multiple establishments, which have been sent for examination to verify their quality and adherence to food safety standards.

News of the raids caused considerable alarm among local shopkeepers operating in the area. The inspection team focused particularly on sweets and food items being sold in the open at Jagdishpur Chowk, where officials observed colourful sweets and other edibles being displayed without proper cover.

Authorities issued strict directives to vendors selling chicken and other food materials in open spaces, instructing them to comply with hygiene and food safety regulations. The food department team also collected samples of the colourful sweets being sold openly at the crossing, amid concerns that people were consuming adulterated products including spurious paneer and contaminated confectionery items available in the market.
