Firozabad officials ensure security for Kanwar Yatra devotees

In preparation for the ongoing Kanwar Yatra during the holy month of Sawan, Firozabad District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Langhe conducted a detailed inspection of the Kanwar route on Saturday. The officials visited key areas including Nasirpur, Shikohabad, and Tundla to ensure smooth and secure passage for devotees.

The inspection focused on reviewing arrangements for traffic management, police deployment, and healthcare facilities along the route. DM and SSP directed police personnel, traffic officials, and health workers to remain vigilant at designated points. Additionally, camps providing health and police assistance have been set up at various locations along the route, with the deployment of 'Police Mitras' to aid in maintaining order and assisting pilgrims.

To minimize inconvenience to the general public, officials also reviewed the route diversion plans. Clear instructions were issued to ensure that alternative routes are well-communicated and traffic flow remains unhindered. The administration emphasized that the diversions should not cause unnecessary disruptions to daily commuters.

Considering the expected crowds and traffic pressure on the Kanwar route, the local administration has declared a holiday for basic schools situated along the route on the second Monday of Sawan. This step aims to prevent inconvenience for students and teachers traveling in the area.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been actively monitoring Kanwar Yatra arrangements across the state. He has directed district officials and police chiefs in all 75 districts to ensure the safety and comfort of devotees. In a symbolic gesture of support, the CM has also welcomed Kanwariyas with flower showers from helicopters in various locations.

The Kanwar Yatra, a major annual pilgrimage, sees thousands of devotees carrying holy water from the Ganga river to offer at Shiva temples. With heightened security and well-coordinated arrangements, the Firozabad administration aims to ensure a seamless experience for all participants.
