FDA intensifies food safety crackdown in Bahraich ahead of Raksha Bandhan

The Food and Drug Administration in Bahraich has intensified its crackdown on shops selling substandard food items as the festive season approaches. Officials conducted multiple raids across the district to ensure the quality and safety of food products being sold to consumers during the celebrations.

Under the supervision of Assistant Food Commissioner Dr. Amar Singh, teams of officials carried out inspections at sweet shops throughout the district in the run-up to Raksha Bandhan. During the operations, authorities collected samples of milk, milk cake, and pedas from various establishments and sent them to laboratories for testing to verify whether they meet food safety standards.

In a significant action, officials discovered and destroyed contaminated papad at a shop in Ramwapur area of Bahraich.
