Farmers' union issues five-point ultimatum to Kanpur Dehat administration

Bhartiya Kisan Union (Apolitical) has submitted a five-point memorandum to the Block Development Officer in Sarwankheda development block of Kanpur Dehat district, demanding action on various local and development-related issues within five days.

The memorandum, submitted by the union, highlights problems affecting gram sabhas in the block and calls for immediate inspection and concrete action on all five points listed in the document.

The key demands raised in the memorandum include repair of handpumps in Gram Sabha Lodipur that have been out of order for a long time, so that villagers do not face drinking water crisis.

The union has demanded improvement and repair work of damaged khadanja and drains in Lodipur village.

The memorandum also seeks publication and provision of the list of eligible beneficiaries under the housing development scheme for residents of Gram Sabha Lodipur and Shahjahanpur.

The farmers' body has called for organizing special camps in villages to ensure that benefits of agricultural schemes running under Sarwankheda block reach poor and weaker section farmers, and to make villagers aware of the Chief Minister's schemes.

The union has demanded regular spraying of medicine in all villages of Sarwankheda block to prevent infectious diseases.

Union office-bearers have stated that if the administration does not take cognizance of these points and initiate appropriate action within five days, farmers will decide their future strategy.
