Government orders probe into delayed ANM center tenders in Pratapgarh district

The tender process for constructing ANM centers in Pratapgarh district has come under scrutiny after a legislator's complaint prompted the state government to order an inquiry. Despite funds of approximately 16 crore rupees being released by the government in February for the construction of 39 ANM center buildings, the tendering procedure has faced significant delays and raised questions about selective implementation.

Sadar MLA Rajendra Kumar Maurya lodged a complaint with the state government and administration after tenders were not issued for months. The government took the matter seriously and ordered an investigation. However, even after the inquiry was initiated, tenders for more than a dozen proposed ANM center buildings in the Sadar assembly constituency have still not been issued.

Following the legislator's complaint, the district panchayat opened tenders for 24 ANM center buildings in other areas, while the proposed buildings in the Sadar area remain outside the tender process. This disparity in the area-wise tender procedure has raised questions about the functioning of the district panchayat.

Political circles are discussing that the complaint by the legislator was not taken well by the Additional Chief Officer of the district panchayat, and its impact is visible on projects in his constituency. However, this allegation has not been independently confirmed.

Several months have passed since the funds were released by the government. Questions are naturally being raised about why the process for buildings in the Sadar area remains stuck when tenders for 24 ANM center buildings have already been opened. It remains unclear whether technical approvals or other formalities for these buildings are pending, or if there is some other obstacle in the process.

After the state-level order to investigate the complaint, all eyes are now on the inquiry report. Only after the report emerges will it become clear what the actual reason is for the delay in the tender process for ANM centers in the Sadar area.
