Excise department seizes illegal liquor and raw materials in Pratapgarh raids

The Excise Department conducted a major crackdown against illegal liquor operations in Pratapgarh district, seizing 10 litres of illicit liquor and approximately 200 kilograms of mahua lahan during raids in two villages.

The action was carried out under the direction of District Magistrate Abhishek Pandey, Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar and District Excise Officer Akhileshwar Nath Singh. The excise team conducted raids in villages Payageepur and Jagannathpur under the Lalganj police station area.

During the operation, the excise team launched an intensive inspection campaign in both villages to curb the illegal liquor trade. The seized items included 10 litres of illegal liquor and around 200 kilograms of mahua lahan, which were confiscated on the spot.

The enforcement action was carried out by a team led by Excise Inspector Ashok Kumar. Officials have stated that the campaign against the manufacture and sale of illegal liquor will continue in the future.

The coordinated operation highlights the administration's focus on checking illicit liquor activities in the district. The recovery of both finished product and raw material suggests the presence of active manufacturing operations in the area.
