District Magistrate finds attendance lapses during surprise health and school inspections

District Magistrate Abhishek Pandey conducted surprise inspections at the Primary Health Centre in Sukhpalnagar and Primary School in Pure Raju in Pratapgarh, where he directly assessed ground realities of health services and educational facilities. During the visits, he engaged with patients and students to gauge the quality of services being provided. The inspection revealed significant lapses in attendance, prompting the DM to express displeasure and issue strict directives to concerned officials for necessary action.

At the Primary Health Centre, Pandey interacted with patients to inquire whether doctors were prescribing medicines from outside sources. Patients confirmed they were being provided medicines from the facility itself. The DM reviewed the prescription counter and learned that over 100 patients had been attended to so far, with prescriptions being issued until 2 pm. He also spoke with admitted patients, who reported receiving timely treatment. During his inspection of the maternity unit, officials informed him that beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana receive funds in their accounts within 10 to 15 days. However, the absence of the lady medical officer Dr. Shivani Singh drew sharp criticism from the District Magistrate, who ordered appropriate action and emphasized that 100 percent attendance of all doctors must be ensured to avoid inconvenience to patients.

Subsequently, the DM visited Primary School Pure Raju, where he observed classroom teaching and interacted with students about their studies and available facilities. He reviewed the attendance registers for both teachers and students. Finding that neither teachers nor students were present in full strength, Pandey expressed his displeasure and directed officials to ensure regular and complete attendance along with creating a better environment for quality education.

During the school visit, the District Magistrate also inspected the Anganwadi Centre operating within the premises and gathered necessary information from the Anganwadi worker regarding services being provided to beneficiaries.
