Delhi Liquor Booking App Records 10,730 Transactions Worth ₹30 Lakh This Fiscal
DSIIDC says Delhi's online liquor booking app was approved in 2024, launched in 2025 and has recorded 10,730 transactions this financial year.
DSIIDC's online liquor booking app permitted by previous Delhi government: Officials
The Delhi Liquor Booking app has recorded 10,730 transactions involving around ₹30 lakh worth of liquor bottles so far in this financial year, officials said. In the 2025-26 financial year, the app recorded 3,629 transactions involving around ₹13 lakh worth of liquor.
Approval and rollout
The Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) said the previous government granted permission for the online liquor booking app in 2024 to promote transparency and stop brand pushing in retail sales. The corporation launched the app after conducting the required trials, allowing customers to book liquor online and collect it from DSIIDC-run vends.
A senior DSIIDC officer said approval for developing the app was granted by DSIIDC Management in December 2024. The work order for developing the app was issued on January 2, 2025. The app was rolled out in November 2025 with the stated objectives of ensuring transparency, promoting digital governance and avoiding brand pushing.
The DSIIDC provided the details on Wednesday (October 28, 2026). The corporation’s account places the permission, development approval, work order and public rollout at different stages of the process.
Access expanded to iPhone users
The app was initially compatible only with Android devices. To give iOS users access and maintain platform neutrality, DSIIDC rolled out a QR-code-enabled micro-site on September 6. The expansion allowed customers using iOS devices to access the booking facility even though the original app was limited to Android.
The transaction figures show that the facility has continued to be used after its rollout in November 2025. The first-year total stood at 3,629 transactions, while the figure reported for the current financial year has reached 10,730 transactions.
How the booking system works
Customers must register on the app before using the service. They can then check the available stock online, book the product and make the payment digitally. The digital process is intended to help customers avoid brand pushing while selecting and purchasing liquor.
After the booking is confirmed and verified, the customer must collect the order from the concerned store. The app does not provide home delivery for liquor booked and purchased through the platform. Customers can cancel a booked order before picking up the purchased bottle.
Each customer must also verify that he or she is above the permissible legal drinking age of 25 years. The officials said the app also aims to reduce crowds outside liquor stores, which often lead to law and order situations.
Facility available at selected vends
Four Delhi government corporations run more than 700 retail liquor stores across the city. However, online liquor booking is currently available only at more than 200 vends operated by DSIIDC. The facility therefore applies only to the DSIIDC-run outlets covered by the service and not to every retail liquor store in the city.
Excise rules allow one person to possess only 9 litres of whisky and 18 litres of beer. Liquor sold or picked up by a consumer cannot be returned, as there is no provision for returns under the stated rules.
