Crocodile spotted in flooded village drain triggers panic in Hamirpur

A 5-foot-long crocodile was spotted in flood waters in Hamirpur, triggering panic in the area. The reptile was sighted in Haretha village under Kurara police station limits in Hamirpur district.

The crocodile entered a village drain after water from the Betwa river flooded in following a rise in the river's water level. Villagers recorded a video of the crocodile and circulated it widely on social media.

In the viral video, the crocodile can be seen basking in the sun. The unexpected sighting of the reptile caused alarm among residents of the village.

After the video went viral, the forest department launched an investigation into the matter. Officials are examining the situation to assess the presence of the crocodile and take necessary action to ensure the safety of local residents.
