Cockroach Janata Party to Protest in Bengaluru Today, Actor Prakash

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is set to stage a protest in Bengaluru today at 4 PM. Actor Prakash Raj is expected to join the demonstration. CJP founder Abhijit Deepke and his supporters have already held protests in four cities, starting on June 6 at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. Subsequent protests took place on June 11 in Pune, June 12 in Lucknow, and June 13 in Amritsar. Another protest is planned at Jantar Mantar on June 20.

Abhijit Deepke, who studied in the United States and previously worked as a social media strategist for the Aam Aadmi Party from 2020 to 2022, founded CJP following remarks by Chief Justice Surya Kant on May 15. The Chief Justice had referred to some unemployed youth as "cockroaches" during a court hearing. Deepke launched the party on May 16 and initiated an online petition demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The petition reportedly garnered support from over 8 lakh people.

CJP has gained significant traction on social media, with 2.27 crore followers on Instagram, surpassing the follower counts of major political parties like BJP and Congress. The party also has 2.75 lakh followers on X (formerly Twitter).
