Child dies at Shravasti hospital after two-day delay in blood arrangement

A five-year-old child died during treatment at the Combined District Hospital in Shravasti, prompting the family to allege severe delays in arranging blood for the patient. According to the family members, the child had tested positive for typhoid and was also suffering from a shortage of blood in the body. The child required AB positive blood, but the blood was reportedly not available at the hospital.

The family members stated that they had been struggling to arrange blood for the past two to three days. When the blood finally became available after approximately two days, it was being administered to the child when the death occurred during the transfusion process itself.

The deceased child's family is said to be from Khairi Kala Tepra village in the Bhinga area of Shravasti district. The family has raised serious questions about the hospital's arrangements and infrastructure in the wake of this incident.

The actual cause of death and the exact circumstances that prevailed during the course of treatment can only be clarified after a proper investigation is conducted. Hospital authorities have not yet issued any statement regarding the matter, and the sequence of events leading to the child's death remains under scrutiny.
