Chandausi-Sambhal road's pothole crisis puts commuters at serious accident risk

The condition of the Chandausi-Sambhal road near Gram Panchayat Janeta has become extremely poor these days. Vehicle drivers start experiencing jolts caused by potholes at various places on the road as soon as they reach about five kilometres from Chandausi.

Several deep potholes are present on the highway from the beginning to the end of Janeta village, and the accumulation of rainwater in these potholes has increased the difficulties faced by vehicle drivers. Due to the water-filled road, drivers are unable to determine whether the road ahead is level or has a pothole. In this situation, drivers of two-wheelers, e-rickshaws, three-wheelers, four-wheelers and large vehicles are forced to navigate through the water by guesswork.

Many times vehicles become uncontrolled due to sudden potholes and there remains a risk of minor accidents occurring. Local residents say that a few days ago also a report was published regarding these potholes in Janeta, but despite that, the problem has not been resolved till now.

Villagers and vehicle drivers have alleged that the attention of area public representatives and concerned officials has not been drawn to this serious problem. The greatest danger is to e-rickshaw and two-wheeler drivers. When there is no estimate of the water-filled pothole, the fear of the e-rickshaw overturning remains when the wheel suddenly goes into it.

Vehicle drivers say that if the potholes are not filled in time, a major accident may occur someday. Vehicle drivers and villagers have demanded from the officials of the concerned department to get the potholes on the Chandausi-Sambhal road in Janeta filled soon and get the road repaired.
