Bahraich traffic police issue challans to 724 violators in safety drive

The Bahraich traffic police have launched an intensive road safety and traffic management campaign across the district, resulting in action against hundreds of violators. A total of 724 vehicles were issued challans during the drive, with fines amounting to Rs 8,99,600 imposed on offenders who breached traffic regulations.

The enforcement campaign, conducted jointly by traffic police and civil police, saw strict action against multiple violations. One vehicle was seized for serious traffic rule violations, while 61 two-wheeler riders were booked under the Motor Vehicles Act for carrying three passengers. Overspeeding emerged as another major concern, with 50 vehicles penalized for exceeding prescribed speed limits.

As part of the Mission Safe Future initiative, traffic authorities collaborated with the transport department to conduct thorough inspections of school vehicles. Officials examined vehicle fitness certificates, registration documents, driver licenses, safety equipment, and the availability of first aid boxes to ensure student safety during transportation.

During the campaign, drivers were counseled and made aware of the importance of following traffic rules, adhering to speed limits, and maintaining safe driving practices. The initiative reflects the district administration's commitment to reducing road accidents and ensuring safer streets for all users.

The Bahraich traffic police have indicated that such enforcement drives will continue regularly to instill discipline among motorists and create a culture of road safety. Authorities have urged citizens to cooperate with traffic regulations and prioritize safety over convenience, emphasizing that responsible driving can save lives and prevent unnecessary tragedies on the roads.
