Bahraich police crack two theft cases, arrest juvenile offenders

Bahraich Police have cracked two separate theft cases and apprehended two juvenile offenders from the Bashirganj area following sustained investigation by teams from Kotwali Nagar police station.

The breakthrough came under the direction of Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and criminal activities in the district. The operation was supervised by Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh and Circle Officer (City) Narayan Datt Mishra.

The first case was registered on 15.08.2026 after complainant Sagir Abbas Rizvi, son of Sabbir Hussain Rizvi, a resident of Bashirganj under Kotwali Nagar police station in Bahraich district, reported a theft at his home. The case was registered as FIR number 142/26 under sections 331(3) and 305 BNS.

The second incident was reported on 01.09.2026 by complainant Bal Krishna, son of Krishna Nand Mishra, a resident of Bhupraj Gali in Bashirganj under Kotwali Nagar police station. This case was registered as FIR number 150/2026 under section 303(2) BNS.

During the course of investigation, a police team led by Chowki In-charge Shivam Kannojiya and Station House Officer Brajendra Kumar Mishra successfully cracked both cases on 03.09.2026. The team recovered one yellow metal chain, cash amounting to 9000 rupees, one white metal chain, one damaged iPhone SE, and coins worth 1645 rupees from the possession of the two juvenile offenders.

The recovered items are linked to both cases, which have now been updated to FIR number 142/2026 under sections 305(A), 331(3) and 317(2) BNS, and FIR number 150/2026 under sections 305(5), 317(2) and 331(3) BNS.

Action has been taken against the juvenile offenders in accordance with the rules and following the orders and directions of the Hon'ble Juvenile Justice Court.

The police team that achieved this success comprised Sub-Inspector Shivam Kumar Kanoujiya, Head Constable Shrinath Shukla, Constable Akram Ansari, Constable Satyawan Yadav, Constable Vyasmuni, and Constable Satyam Yadav.
