Atiq Ahmed's youngest son Aban dies in road accident

Jhansi: Aban Ahmed, the youngest son of jailed gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed, died in a tragic road accident on Monday. The incident occurred in the Poonch police station area near Khilli village on the national highway. Aban was reportedly on his way to meet his brother Ali Ahmed, who is currently lodged in Jhansi Jail.

According to SSP BBGTS Murthy, Aban’s death has been confirmed, along with his friend Sonu (Ahzam), who was also in the car. Three other passengers, identified as Mohammad Zaid, Umar, and another individual, sustained severe injuries in the crash and are undergoing treatment at a local hospital. The police have launched an investigation into the accident.

Ali Ahmed, Aban's elder brother, was transferred from Naini Jail in Prayagraj to Jhansi Jail on October 1, 2025. Aban was reportedly traveling to visit him when the accident occurred. The car, carrying a total of five people, met with the accident on the highway, leading to the fatalities and injuries.

The incident marks another grim chapter for the family of Atiq Ahmed, who has been embroiled in legal troubles and controversies for years. Atiq Ahmed himself is serving time in prison, and his family has frequently made headlines for various reasons.

The tragic accident has sparked shock and grief in Prayagraj and Jhansi, with locals mourning the loss of the young lives. Authorities are expected to provide further details as the investigation progresses.
