27-Year-Old Hathras Man Allegedly Dies By Suicide After Family Row

A 27-year-old man in Hathras allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself, reportedly troubled by his addiction. The incident took place in the Ganeshganj locality under the City Kotwali Sadar police station area. The deceased has been identified as Vivek, son of Shiv Kumar.

According to the information available, Vivek was addicted to alcohol and also used to inject drugs. His substance use often led to disputes with members of his family, sources said.

On Wednesday night, Vivek reached home after consuming alcohol. When his family members objected to him returning home in an intoxicated condition, an argument broke out. Following the dispute, Vivek locked himself inside a room late at night and allegedly hanged himself.

The family members became aware of the incident when Vivek did not come out of the room for a long time. The situation soon led to panic and cries for help inside the house.

His family members rushed him to the district hospital. However, after examining him, doctors declared him dead. The family then took him to a private hospital as well, but doctors there also confirmed his death.

The hospital administration informed the police about the incident. After receiving the information, police reached Vivek’s house at around one o’clock at night. The police took the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

Police are carrying out the necessary action in the case. The available information states that Vivek was married, but he had no children.

The death of the young man has left the family in mourning. The incident has also brought attention to the repeated disputes within the family over his reported alcohol and drug use, though police action in the matter is still underway.
