Hathras Man Allegedly Dies By Suicide After Row With Wife

A 40-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself following a domestic dispute with his wife in the Gijrauli locality of Hathras. The incident took place late on Saturday night and triggered cries and commotion among family members.

The deceased has been identified as Girijesh Kumar, son of Ramniwas. He was originally a resident of Nagla Mani village in the Sahpau area and had been living in a rented house in Hathras’ Gijrauli locality for some time.

After the incident, the family members hurriedly took Girijesh to the district hospital. Doctors examined him and declared him dead. The police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and sent the body for postmortem examination. Police are investigating the matter.

According to Girijesh’s elder brother, there were frequent disputes between Girijesh and his wife over going to the village. The elder brother also said that there had been several instances of physical assault between the couple.

The couple had another argument at around 11 pm on Saturday over an issue, according to the family. It has been alleged that after this domestic dispute, Girijesh went into one of the rooms of the house and hanged himself.

Family members said that the in-laws’ side was called over the phone at night after the incident. However, they could not answer the call at that time. When another call was made in the morning, they were informed about Girijesh’s death.

Following the information, panic spread among the family members and people living nearby. Girijesh was taken to the district hospital without delay, but the doctors declared him dead.

The police took custody of the body and sent it for postmortem examination. The circumstances surrounding the death are being examined as part of the investigation.

Girijesh is survived by six children, according to information provided by the family. Following his death, the children and other members of the family were in distress and were crying.
