2,000 Police Personnel Deployed for Golconda Bonalu Celebrations

Hyderabad Police have deployed approximately 2,000 personnel to ensure the smooth conduct of the Golconda Jagadambika Bonalu celebrations, which commenced on Thursday. City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar personally reviewed the security arrangements from the foothills to the top of Golconda Fort, where the first Bonam was presented. Special contingents have been stationed along the route from Langar Houz X Roads to the temple.

Enhanced Surveillance and Safety Measures

To bolster security, drone cameras and numerous CCTV cameras are being used for continuous monitoring throughout the celebrations. The Crime Wing has intensified its vigilance to prevent property-related offences such as pickpocketing and chain snatching. Additionally, SHE Teams have been deployed to ensure the safety of women devotees.

The Traffic Police have also made special arrangements to manage parking and streamline vehicle movement, aiming to prevent congestion in the area.

Coordination Across Departments

Commissioner Sajjanar emphasized that advance preparations were made to ensure that devotees experience no inconvenience during the festival. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of the Law and Order and Traffic wings, along with other government departments, in maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for the celebrations.

The Golconda Bonalu festival is a significant cultural and religious event in Hyderabad, drawing large crowds of devotees each year. The robust security and logistical arrangements reflect the authorities' commitment to safeguarding the traditions and ensuring public safety.
