An allegation has emerged in Shamli that wages amounting to around nine lakh rupees are pending for 15 workers who worked for two companies. The workers have reportedly not been paid for nearly two months, even as the Diwali festival approaches. They have said the delay has created a financial crisis for their families.

The matter was brought before the District Magistrate by worker Anil Kumar Verma, who submitted a complaint seeking the release of the pending wages. In his application, Verma requested that the administration take cognisance of the issue and ensure that the workers receive the money they are owed.

According to the complaint, Anil Kumar Verma, son of Jaiprakash Verma and a resident of village Jungle Khedwa in Muzaffarnagar district, worked along with other workers on assignments connected with two companies. The companies named in the complaint are Om Engineering and Stream India.

The workers allege that they completed their responsibilities while working on tasks associated with the two companies. However, they claim that payment for their labour has not been made. According to the complaint, around nine lakh rupees in wages remain pending with both companies.

The workers also said they contacted the people responsible at the companies several times over the phone and requested that the payments be released. Despite these efforts, they allege that their problem has not been resolved so far.

The complainant said the workers have been waiting for their wages for nearly two months. With Diwali nearing, the lack of payment has made it difficult for their families to manage household expenses. The workers said they had worked hard and were now being forced to struggle for money they had already earned.

Anil Kumar Verma submitted the application to the District Magistrate on 28 October 2026. Through the application, he sought administrative intervention to recover the workers’ pending wages from the companies concerned.

He also appealed to the administration to resolve the workers’ problem at the earliest. The complaint alleges that 15 workers are waiting for nearly nine lakh rupees in wages linked to work carried out for Om Engineering and Stream India.
