Yogi government raises Anganwadi worker pay by 50 percent in UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a significant increase in the honorarium for Anganwadi workers and helpers across the state. The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing Anganwadi workers and helpers at a grand programme organised at the Government Inter College in Ayodhya, the sacred birthplace of Lord Ram.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the honorarium of Anganwadi workers will be increased from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000, while the honorarium of Anganwadi helpers will be increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. Along with this, he also announced free health insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh and financial assistance for an additional saree for them.

The programme, which included the felicitation of Anganwadi workers and helpers of the Child Development Services and Supplementary Nutrition Department and beneficiaries of the Women Welfare Department, as well as the distribution of appointment letters to newly appointed Anganwadi workers and helpers, was broadcast live. It was watched and heard at the Tulsisadan auditorium in Hathihal, Pratapgarh.

Present at the Tulsisadan auditorium were Vishwanathganj MLA Jitlal Patel, BJP district president Ashish Srivastava, Chief Development Officer Dr. Rammohan Meena, Sadar MLA representative Arun Kumar Maurya, District Programme Officer Jyoti Shakya, Child Development Project Officers, Chief Sevikas, and Anganwadi workers, helpers and beneficiaries.

The announcement of the honorarium increase and other facilities brought a wave of happiness among the Anganwadi workers and helpers present at the Tulsisadan auditorium. The workers and helpers present described the government's decision as an important step in their interest.

On this occasion, Vishwanathganj MLA Jitlal Patel congratulated and extended best wishes to the Anganwadi workers and helpers on the increase in their honorarium. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, the country and the state are continuously moving ahead on the path of development. He said that Anganwadi workers and helpers play an important role in taking schemes related to women and child development to the ground level. The increase in honorarium will boost their morale.

On this occasion, BJP district president Ashish Srivastava said that the announcement of increase in the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers by the Chief Minister is laudable and commendable. The Central and State governments are continuously working for the empowerment of women and their welfare. Continuous efforts are also being made to make women self-reliant by benefiting them through various public welfare schemes.

During the programme, detailed information was provided about all the important schemes run by the Child Development Services and Supplementary Nutrition Department, as well as supplementary nutrition, pre-school education, nutrition and health education, immunisation, health check-up, referral, and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

During the ceremony, community activities were organised under departmental schemes. The godh bharai of five pregnant beneficiaries, Suman, Priyanka, Nandani, Anjali and Nidhi, was performed. Annaprashan was conducted for two beneficiaries, Reyansh and Baby. Nutrition potli was distributed to 10 beneficiaries, Naina, Nihar, Drishti, Atharv, Rinshu, Vaidehi, Arvind, Yashi, Umar and Anaya. Along with this, certificates of appreciation were distributed to Anganwadi workers who did excellent work at Anganwadi centres.
