Woman, Two-Year-Old Son Found Dead in Pratapgarh; Husband Accused

A case involving the suspected deaths of a woman and her two-year-old son has come to light in Naya Purwa village, located in Lal Patti under the Sangramgarh police station area of Pratapgarh. The incident reportedly took place late on Saturday night.

The woman’s maternal family has accused her husband of strangling both her and their son to death. Following the information, the Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police, along with a large police force and a forensic team, reached the spot and started an investigation.

According to the information available, village resident Suresh Kumar Patel had married Neeta Devi (30), the daughter of Shivcharan of Antamau village under the Manikpur police station area, about ten years ago.

On Saturday night, after having dinner, Neeta Devi went to sleep with her two-year-old son, Yesu. The maternal family has alleged that the husband killed both his wife and their son.

It has also been alleged that after the incident, the two bodies were removed from the bed and placed outside on a cot. A neighbour, Lavkush, informed Dial 112 about the matter.

Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar said that during questioning, the accused husband confessed to killing them after assaulting them. The bodies were taken into custody and sent for post-mortem.

Police have registered a case on the basis of the complaint submitted by the woman’s maternal family. The investigation into the deaths and the allegations against the husband is underway.
