Woman dies from snake bite in Amethi despite treatment in multiple hospitals

A 28-year-old woman died from a snake bite in Amethi district's Musafirkhana area on Wednesday, sending her family into grief and casting a pall of gloom over the village. Kirti, wife of Anil Kumar Mishra and a resident of Khaudia village, was bitten by a snake hiding under a mat as she entered her room to perform morning prayers.

The incident occurred in the Musafirkhana police station area of Amethi district. After the snake bite, Kirti's condition began deteriorating rapidly. Her family immediately rushed her to the Community Health Centre in Musafirkhana, where doctors provided initial treatment but, recognizing the severity of her condition, referred her to Sultanpur for better medical care.

Despite the family's efforts to save her, Kirti's condition did not improve at Sultanpur. Hoping for more advanced treatment, the family then transported her to Lucknow, where she was placed under the supervision of medical specialists. However, her health continued to decline even as doctors tried to stabilize her.

Tragically, Kirti succumbed to the snake bite during treatment in Lucknow. The news of her death devastated her family members, who broke down upon hearing the tragic outcome. The entire village of Khaudia has been plunged into mourning following the incident.

The tragedy highlights the persistent danger of snake bites in rural areas, particularly during times when snakes seek shelter indoors. The case also underscores the challenges faced by families in accessing timely and adequate medical treatment for such emergencies, despite efforts to reach multiple healthcare facilities. Local authorities have not yet commented on any preventive measures following this incident.
