Wanted criminal with 25,000 rupee bounty arrested after police encounter in Firozabad

A notorious criminal carrying a bounty of twenty-five thousand rupees was arrested after a police encounter in Firozabad district, sustaining a bullet injury to his leg during the exchange of fire with law enforcement officers. The accused, identified as Sunny alias Sania, is wanted in over a dozen criminal cases and was captured by a joint team of Rasulpur police station and the Special Operations Group surveillance unit.

The arrest took place during a checking operation on the service road from Kanaita to Modha. Police teams were conducting routine surveillance and checking of suspicious individuals when Sunny alias Sania approached the area. When the police signaled him to stop, the criminal found himself surrounded and opened fire on the officers with the intention of killing them in order to escape. In self-defense, the police returned fire, and a bullet struck the accused in his leg, bringing him down. Following his capture, the injured criminal was immediately admitted to the district hospital for medical treatment.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Langhe and on the directions of senior officers. The successful arrest represents a significant breakthrough for the Rasulpur police station and the SOG surveillance team in their ongoing efforts to apprehend wanted criminals operating in the district.

Sunny alias Sania is a hardened criminal with an extensive criminal history, having more than twelve criminal cases registered against him at various police stations. His latest crime dates back to thirty-first August two thousand twenty-six, when he committed a sophisticated theft using a calculated modus operandi. On that date, the cunning accused had asked a motorcycle rider for a lift. While seated on the pillion during the ride, he skillfully pickpocketed thirty thousand rupees from the victim's pocket without the rider's knowledge.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim, a first information report numbered four hundred fifty of two thousand twenty-six was registered at Rasulpur police station on third September two thousand twenty-six under Section three hundred three subsection two of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. During the investigation into this incident, two names emerged as suspects in the case. The first was Sunny alias Sania and the second was his accomplice Kuldeep, who is a resident of Bah in Agra district.

Police recovered incriminating materials from the possession of the arrested criminal at the time of his capture.
