Village campaign raises awareness on protecting endangered wildlife and reducing human-animal conflicts

A comprehensive wildlife conservation awareness and rescue campaign was organised on Thursday in gram sabha Parsa Deharia under Kakardari Range, following the directions of the Divisional Forest Officer. The primary objective of this campaign was to protect rare and endangered wild animals such as Gangetic dolphins, crocodiles, snakes, turtles and leopards, and to prevent human-wildlife conflict.

District panchayat representative Shri Ranvir Singh, who was the chief guest at the programme, addressed the villagers and highlighted the ecological importance of wild animals. He described the role of the local community in their conservation as extremely essential.

On this occasion, forest guard Sheshmani Mishra informed the villagers about the rescue measures to be taken in case of wildlife sightings and the process of immediately notifying the forest department. The programme was attended by lowest grade employee Lalji Yadav, Jawahir, other employees of the forest department, and a large number of local villagers.

The villagers appreciated this campaign being run by the department and pledged to protect wildlife in order to maintain environmental balance. The awareness drive in Shravasti district's Kakardari Range marks a significant effort by the forest department to engage rural communities in conservation efforts and reduce potential conflicts between humans and endangered species in the region.
