Tractor driver escapes after sewage tank overturns in Pratapgarh field

A major accident was narrowly averted in Sahaspur village under the Patti area of Pratapgarh on Monday morning when a sewage tank being towed by a tractor overturned into a field beside the road. The driver jumped off the tractor in time and saved his life.

According to information, driver Ravi Kumar was transporting the sewage tank with his tractor around 11 am on Monday. As soon as he reached the kharanje (culvert) from the paved road, the rear wheel of the tank slipped. Within moments, the tractor and tank went out of control and overturned into the field beside the road.

During the accident, driver Ravi Kumar showed presence of mind and jumped from the tractor. This saved him from sustaining serious injuries. No other person was present near the site at the time of the accident, which prevented a major loss of life.

After the sewage tank overturned into the field, a crane was called to pull it out. After considerable effort, the tank and tractor were extracted from the field with the help of the crane. As soon as news of the accident spread, a crowd of villagers gathered at the spot.

According to local residents, the accident occurred because the culvert pathway was narrow and the wheel slipped. People expressed relief that the driver escaped safely. Villagers said special caution should be exercised while transporting heavy vehicles and tanks through narrow passages like culverts.
